Fast and... harmful?

State Duma deputies took the initiative to ban fast food advertising. In their opinion, advertising should not promote unhealthy food to the market.

However, the owners of fast food restaurants do not consider their products harmful. As Rush Hour reports, Tomsk entrepreneur Ivan Lysyak opened a fast food restaurant in Tomsk about a year ago.

“The specific expensive equipment in which we do all this allows us to make a product that is even healthy. Because the same chicken becomes crusty when fried, the meat becomes dietary,” noted Ivan Lysyak.

An entrepreneur considers advertising an effective means of attracting customers to his restaurant. Every month he spends from 50 to 200 thousand rubles on advertising.

In turn, doctors speak out categorically against fast food. According to nutritionist Natalia Suvorova, such food, when consumed regularly, negatively affects not only a person’s health and appearance, but also causes infertility.

“What we eat affects our external appearance, our physical condition and our offspring. And if this continues, it is not known whether we will have offspring at all. This is due to the set of components that are in these products These are emulsifiers, thickeners, transgenic fats, additives, hydrated components that increase the shelf life of these products. This is a wide range of components that negatively affect our body,” said the nutritionist.

Natalia Suvorova also believes that a ban on fast food advertising can protect children from junk food and help create a culture of healthy eating.
