On the evening of April 30, a private screening of the film “The Last Dictator of Europe,” filmed by British director Matthew Charles and cameraman Juan Pasarelli, was supposed to take place in the premises rented by the Belarusian Free Theater. The show was timed to coincide with the premiere demonstration, which took place at the same time in London.
In the fifth minute of the film, just at the words “freedom of speech and freedom of expression is completely absent in Belarus,” special forces burst into the hall and forced everyone present to stand facing the walls, legs wide apart. It seemed like nothing serious: special forces burst in and harshly put him in a paddy wagon; brought the detainees to the police station; They took photographs and ran fingerprints... A familiar picture for Belarus. Familiar, understandable, and even logical in some ways. I mean, everyone understands that this is the norm. Well, how could it be otherwise - “they were going to watch a forbidden movie.” Madness that has become the norm and does not excite any emotions. The incident, which would be enough to dismiss the heads of all involved ministries and departments, here only causes a shrug of the shoulders.
At the same time, if earlier the special services seized information media: memory cards, computers, flash drives, citing the fact that they may contain information related to the investigation of the “crimes” of dissidents, now representatives of the special services simply steal everything that comes to hand. . In this case, they took the computer of Belsat director Victoria Kolchina, and returned it three hours later in non-working condition, and the flash card of operator Kravchuk, which they decided not to return. And this is natural - special forces also have cameras at home, and why spend money on buying a flash card if you can steal it from the “unreliable”. But okay, the memory card was stolen and stolen, what can you do? But along the way, the special forces, performing an operetta with the capture of the audience, stole the mixing console from the dressing room, taking it out under their clothes. As you know, a sound mixing console does not have memory cards or a hard drive - it is just a console for mixing sound. But it shows that the item is expensive, which means it can be sold by sharing the money with an accomplice who inadvertently caught the theft.
This is understandable: less and less money is allocated for punitive forces, and they are used to living in grand style - so they take home everything they can get their hands on. Like the SS detachments in World War II, snatching gold crowns from captured Jews - “they don’t care in the gas chamber, but I can spend it on a good cause - I can help my family.” The right students were raised by our admirer of Adolf Hitler - zealous, savvy and vile. As his spiritual mentor said: “I free you from the chimera called conscience.”
