NVIDIA began testing a cloud service for Grid games. With it, the company intends to strive for tablets or smartphones through server farms. Thus, the game can be launched right in the browser via the Internet.
Service testing is currently in extremely limited mode. GRID is available exclusively for Shield portable consoles, which are located near the company's data center at San Jose, California.

The gamers from The Verge managed to try the service in practice. Witnesses claim that Grid is the best attempt in the history of game streaming. NVIDIA managed to fix the mistakes of Onlive and Gaikai, and now the cloud gaming process has close to the console option as possible. The only drawback of the trial test was a belated audio. At the moment, eight games are available in Grid, including Street Fighter X Tekken, The Witcher 2, Red Faction: ArmageDdon.
Despite successful results, NVIDIA did not disclose their plans for the future: “We want to launch it for a short while, test, study, see how useful it will become for our equipment and software, and find out what to do next.”
