60-70s. France. A native of a prosperous family becomes the most famous criminal. Jacques Merin is a great French gangster, a sort of Robin Hood, robbing banks and rich people. His crimes were very daring in nature. The elusive for the police, he changed his appearance beyond recognition, did plastic surgery, used makeup, every time he went to the next “business”.

The hero for many Frenchmen, he lived a rich life. Life is a scandal. Numerous robberies and killings, shoots from prisons, dizzying love novels. He constantly talked with journalists, convincing them that he acts only from political beliefs. He was smart and prudent in robberies. Tough and cold in murders. Passionate and deep in love. Adventure and purposeful in life.

He wrote a book about himself. Several films have been shot about him and his life. His image in France is still one of the most contradictory, some call him the hero of the revolution, an anarchist and a fighter against the system, others by the enemy of society, a brutal killer of the main French criminals of the twentieth century. But be that as it may, Jacques Merin - “number one!” ...

“Enemy of the state No. 1” is a film in two parts. In the title role, the inimitable Vansent Kassel (which for the sake of the role in the film gained weight 23 kg, then lost weight). Great picture, great game, great music, excellent script. Watch be sure!
