| Transport tax may be forced to be paid in advance Maintaining cars is becoming more and more expensive, not only because of rising gasoline prices. At the same time, transport tax rates are increasing in almost all regions. Following Muscovites, for whom the transport tax will at least double from next year, residents of the Moscow region will also feel the increase in car taxes. The Moscow Regional Duma has received a bill to increase transport tax rates in the region by an average of 18%. At the same time, compared to Moscow, tax rates are not rising so rapidly.
The only people who won't have to worry too much about increasing the tax on “horses” are the owners of Zhiguli cars. If the bill is approved, then for passenger cars with an engine power of up to one hundred horsepower, you will have to pay seven rubles per “horse,” while the current rate is six rubles.
Rates for cars with power up to 150 horsepower are increasing slightly - from the current 17 rubles. per horsepower up to 20 rubles. Owners of cars with an engine power of 200-250 horsepower, unlike Muscovites (in the capital the current law is still more liberal), who are already paying 45 rubles. from one “horse”, they will pay 50. Finally, owners of cars with a capacity of over 250 horsepower will pay instead of 90 rubles. 100 rub. for one “horse”, which is quite humane, since for their brothers in Moscow the tax should almost triple - from 35 to 100 rubles.
If the new rules come into force, the owner of a Zhiguli with a 75 horsepower engine will presumably pay 525 rubles per year. tax instead of 450. The owner of a BMW X5 with a capacity of 285 horsepower, for which today the tax in the Moscow region is 25 thousand rubles. per year, will pay about 28.5 thousand.
Federal legislators are also preparing tougher transport tax payments. True, these changes will affect mostly legal entities that own large fleets of vehicles. At the end of last week, the State Duma approved in the second reading a bill allowing local authorities to introduce advances on transport taxes if they wish. The fact is that discipline in collecting transport tax is lame in almost all regions. Therefore, in order to prevent holes in budgets, local legislators have included in their legislation requirements to transfer advance payments for this tax, which contradicts the Tax Code.
Now, if the amendments come into force, starting next year, owners will have to report for their vehicles quarterly - otherwise tax authorities will have the full right to charge penalties. Irina SKLYAROVA |
