The books of Sergei Minaev are a product of modern Russia . They are written for a certain audience, not pretending to be eternal, and do not open new horizons. “Duhless” is unlikely to interest the inhabitants of small cities to whom the problems of the main characters will seem far -fetched, but even they will agree that the existence in the form of “somnambul” is also not a way out. For such a project, a screenwriter and director were needed who would not be afraid to take up ambiguous material and process it. Denis Rodimin and Roman Prygunov created their version “Duhless” - more acute and more finished than the original.

Maxim is a young promising worker above the middle level. His life is full of any pleasures that you can buy. But a meeting with a student Julia , who, together with like -minded people, tries to open people's eyes to how they slowly degrade, gradually changes his views on life. In of course, they will have to choose how far they can go because of love and what they are ready to sacrifice.

Roman Prygunov shot a long -building, which turned out to be not just an expensive toy. In our age of computer technology, corporations and the only goal in life - enrichment, it is pleasant to come to the cinema and see there the Russian picture, colorfully describing the absurdity of this desire.

Denis Rodimin rewritten most of the Minaevsky text. He changed a lot, changed something dramatically, the rest was so brightly written that it remained relevant to this day. The screenwriter expanded the storyline of the main character, making her no less participant in events than Maxim . I inserted what was not so interesting to Minaev - a policy that only emphasizes the time in which the picture takes place.

A little lack of nothing at the end gives the audience the opportunity to present the future fate of the heroes in their own way.

The fact that Minaev did not take part in the development of the project seems to me the only true one, because Rodimin was able to correct the author’s mistakes, replacing them with his thoughts and decisions.

Danila Kozlovsky perfectly joined the role of Maxim , he holds most scenes exclusively due to his talent. If the creators chose another candidate, their project would have been waiting for a complete collapse. Maria Andreeva plays very simply, but with a soul. Maria Kozhevnikova , Arthur Smolyaninov , Mikhail Efremov and Artem Mikhalkov played very small roles, but not only remembered, but also managed to give their characters in weight.

"Duhless" is a very beautiful movie. The picture looks at the level of a good, multi -budget Hollywood project, deeply immersing the viewer into the atmosphere of the film.

Pavel Yesenin wrote music perfectly for each storyline of the project. His compositions change with the same ease with which the hero of the film changes the night clubs of Moscow .

The film version of Duhless is a pleasant, thoughtful continuation of Minaev’s book, it in no case seeks to teach anyone, but the authors with undisguised pleasure show what the life of “algae” can lead to.
