Yesterday, for some reason, I couldn’t find the printed version of Vlast, chalking it up to postal confusion. As a result, I read the number on the website . They dealt very seriously with Edra and the rigged elections there.

And today they suddenly report that the long-time editor-in-chief of Vlast, Maxim Kovalsky, who made this magazine one of the best on the market, has been dismissed. And along with him is the director of the entire Kommersant holding, Andrey Galiev. The general director of the publishing house, Demyan Kudryavtsev, also resigned. This is the decision of the shareholder, i.e. Alisher Usmanov. His first comment has just appeared: “These materials [in Vlast] border on petty hooliganism,” Usmanov explained, not even ruling out the possibility of going to court for their publication with a claim against Maxim Kovalsky.

Even in the past weeks, we heard vague rumors that the holding’s publications were under considerable pressure in connection with the elections. Some departments, for example the newspaper, allegedly made concessions and clearly reduced the degree of attack on swindlers and falsifiers. But “Vlast” continued to stick to its line...

This is a very sad event both for the media market and for society as a whole.
