| Spanish comedian-scandal Leo Bassi, who came to Moscow during the Theater Olympics, began showing his new one-man show about the September 11 attacks in the 300-seat Madrid theater. The show is called “September 12,” and the objects of ridicule are the Taliban and kamikazes, who, according to the temperamental artist, completely lack a sense of humor. Outrageousness is an integral part of Bassi's aesthetics. He has already been arrested several times for violating public morals, for the same reason he was “honored” of a lifelong ban from performing at New York’s Lincoln Center. But in Moscow the comedian was greeted with a bang. Bassi himself assures that he is full of respect for the victims of the tragedy and that the goal of his controversial show is to overcome the apathy and inattention of the public to the problems of terrorism. Bassi's performances at the Madrid theater are scheduled to run for ten consecutive weeks. Ignat BEZZUBOV (based on materials from RIA Novosti)
