According to the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs, the commander of a special company for the protection of senior officials of the republican administration, Ramzan Kadyrov, arrived on Sunday at ten o’clock in the morning from Grozny to the village of Tsatsan-Yurt, Kurchaloevsky district, with an inspection of personnel.
At about 11 o'clock the company lined up on the parade ground, located in the center of the village, 300 meters from the food market and the village administration. At this time, a young girl of about twenty, dressed in a long dress and a dark scarf, approached the fighters. She began asking “Kadyrov’s men” how she could find their commander in order to talk to him.
Ramzan Kadyrov's bodyguards noticed the woman's inappropriate behavior and tried to detain her. At that moment, being about 50 meters from Ramaz Kadyrov, the suicide bomber blew herself up. None of Mr. Kadyrov's security guards were injured as a result of the explosion. A local resident passing by received a slight shrapnel wound. At the scene of the incident, she was provided with medical assistance and taken by ambulance to the regional hospital in the village of Kurchaloy.
Representatives of the republican prosecutor's office arrived in the village of Tsatsan-Yurt from Grozny on Sunday afternoon and opened a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - terrorism - into the bomb explosion and the death of the terrorist.
The operatives were unable to identify the deceased terrorist and detain her accomplices in hot pursuit. Explosive experts, who worked all day at the scene, managed to find out that the “suicide belt” that the suicide bomber blew up consisted of 400 grams of TNT, pieces of wire, nails and a standard army detonator.
On Sunday evening, when Ramzan Kadyrov was already in his ancestral village of Tsentoroi, Kurchaloevsky district, operatives found out that a new terrorist attack was being prepared against him. It must be carried out by a female kamikaze. Now a special headquarters has been created at the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs to search for and detain her. According to intelligence officers, on the eve of the presidential elections in Chechnya, militants intensified terrorist activities against Akhmat Kadyrov and his relatives.
The Chechen prosecutor's office does not rule out that the female terrorist was taking revenge for her deceased relative, who was killed by Mr. Kadyrov's guards.
According to detectives, in mid-May of this year, Larisa Musalaeva, the sister of Imran Musalaev, killed by Kadyrov’s men, blew herself up during a religious holiday in the village of Iliskhan-Yurt, Gudermes region.
Mr. Kadyrov was not injured as a result of the powerful explosion. 145 people were injured of varying severity.
