| Inkombank creditors could not fire the manager The removal from the post of bankruptcy manager of Inkombank Vladimir Alekseev, initiated by the bank's creditors' committee, was called into question yesterday. The Moscow Arbitration Court, to which the creditors sent their petition, decided to return the application to them. The court did not specify the reason for the refusal, saying only that “it was decided to return the petition due to procedural issues.” However, this, according to the judges, does not mean that the creditors' committee will not be able to resubmit its application.
The Committee of Inkombank's creditors voted to remove Vladimir Alekseev from the post of bankruptcy trustee and assign his duties to Alexander Yesin (he deals with the sale of cultural property at Inkombank) last week. As the head of the committee, Maxim Finsky, explained, Mr. Alekseev is actually accused of concluding 14 dubious transactions worth more than $100 million. At the initiative of the Central Bank, a special commission was created to investigate. But, according to Finsky, Mr. Alekseev’s authorized representative refused to provide documents on the transactions. And the creditors decided to go to court.
As a representative of Inkombank's creditors' committee explained to the Vremya Novostey newspaper, the court's claims are exclusively of a technical nature. The package of documents was missing a copy of the power of attorney. According to him, all the shortcomings were corrected and the petition was again submitted to the court. “The office has already registered it,” he explained. It was impossible to get a comment from Mr. Alekseev himself yesterday. Victoria ABRAMENKO |
