General Svyatoslav Nabzdorov leaves the post of commander of mixed forces to maintain the world (SSPM) in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict. The general himself announced this on Thursday "Interfax."
According to Nabzdorov, the planned replacement is prepared, and most likely will take place within a month. The new commander will probably become the commander of the 19th division, deployed in North Ossetia, Marat Kulakhametov.
Nabzdorov is in the Zhino-Ossetian conflict zone for about a year and a half. Recently, in Tbilisi, they raised the question of its replacement, showing dissatisfaction with the activities of the general. The head of the Georgian General Staff, not so long ago, said that Nabzdorov would leave the post of commander of the peacekeepers in August, but then this caused a tough reaction of the Russian side - Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov said: "Wanting is not harmful."
Tbilisi positively evaluates the possible resignation of the Commander of the SSM in the Zhuzino-Yugoosetan conflict zone Svyatoslav Nabzdorov. This was announced on the air of the Echo of Moskvy radio station by a temporary attorney in Georgia in the Russian Federation Taymuraz Gammemmilidze.
According to Gammzlidze, "this replacement is necessary: the Georgian leadership is grateful to Svyatoslav Nabzdorov for the work that he did, but is preoccupied with his political statements, which the military general should not do."
“We are grateful to the Russian peacekeepers for the fact that blood was not spilled in the conflict zone, this is their merit,” Gamculidze concluded. “And we would very much like the tasks of the peacekeeping operation and continue to be carried out with the same success as during these years.”
In South Ossetia, it is said that the change and appointment of the commander of peacekeepers in the zone of the Georgian -Ossetian conflict is the prerogative of Russia. The plenipotentiary representative of South Ossetia in Russia Dmitry Medoev has positively evaluates the activities of Major General Svyatoslav Nabzdorov as commander of mixed forces to maintain peace in the zone of the Georgian-Yugooseta conflict. He stated this on the air of the Echo of Moscow.
“Speaking of General Nabustorov, in addition to the words of gratitude, nothing to say, he honestly fulfilled his duty, perfectly led his subordinates, no special exacerbations were noticed during this period,” said Medoev.
"Recently, there have been some excesses associated with provocative actions from the moan of Georgia, but General Nabzdorov came out of these situations with honor," he added.
"The replacement of the chief military chief of the tripartite peacekeeping forces located in South Ossetia is the prerogative of Russia, since the senior military chief of peacekeeping forces is appointed by decision of the General Staff of Russia," said Meldoev.
According to him, in general, the attitude in South Ossetia to the peacekeepers is positive.
At the post of commander of the peacekeepers, Nabzdors stayed a little more than a year and a half, but many he remembered during the last aggravation of the situation in the Zino-Ossetian conflict zone. It began after the Georgian military stopped the Russian column with equipment and food and took Russian uncontrollable missiles.
During the conflict, Nabzdorov made a number of statements that caused an extremely negative reaction of the Georgian side. In particular, the general said that there is no Georgian-Russian border on the Rock Tunnel. He also did not exclude that soon Georgia would have to ask for Russia.
