The city election commission proposed changing the boundaries of electoral districts. For the reason that the number of voters living in certain areas has changed. So the upcoming election campaign for elections to the city Legislative Assembly is acquiring a new flavor of piquancy. And they are already actively preparing for this. For example, SPS and Yabloko signed an election agreement a few days ago.
According to the agreements, each of the organizations - SPS and Yabloko - receives 15 districts. However, the list of “Apple” territories has not yet been closed: as is known, before the parliamentary holidays, Alexander Kushchak and Valery Nazarov left the faction, and the organization has not yet decided whether it will field candidates in their constituencies or try its luck in a new place. The lists of those who will join the fight for mandates have also not been finalized, therefore, according to Yabloko leader Mikhail Amosov, it is too early to announce them.
True, the leader of the “right” Stanislav Eremeev is more frank, naming those whom the Union of Right Forces intends to nominate. But he never tires of emphasizing that these are preliminary decisions that can still be changed. For example, Mr. Eremeev himself is currently planning to run in Sergei Mironov’s district. But he does not rule out that he will voluntarily “liberate the territory” if, in the time remaining before the start of the campaign, the Union concludes an agreement with the “Will of St. Petersburg.” Although Volya has not yet shown interest in such cooperation. Unlike United Russia, with which the Union of Right Forces hopes to reach an agreement. According to the leader of the “right”, “between three” they can get more than half of the votes in the future Legislative Assembly. True, it is not entirely clear how strong such a majority will be (if there is one, of course): after all, both the Union of Right Forces and Yabloko are in opposition to the current city administration, and the head of this very administration is a member of the governing bodies of United Russia. ..
Among the “candidates for candidates” of the Union of Right Forces is Vladimir “Little” Yakovlev, the ex-chairman of the city committee for culture. But the “right”, like the “Yabloko” members, have a negative attitude towards the possibility of nominating “big” Yakovlev for a third gubernatorial term. Referring to the fact that the rule prohibiting holding the “main chair” of the city for more than two consecutive terms appeared in St. Petersburg in 1996, they regard attempts to change it for a specific leader as legal nihilism. However, so far there have been no such attempts: after all, for this it is necessary to make changes to the City Charter, which requires the votes of two-thirds of the deputies. The current Assembly will almost certainly not accept such an amendment. And what next?.. Everything depends on the election results.
