Triumph of hungry fighters

The first round of the RF Mixed Martial Arts championship ended with the sensational victory of the Chelyabinsk fighters.

The championship held the Union of Mixed Martial Arts of MMA Russia in Yaroslavl. Yaroslavl gathered the best teams of the country. This city took the championship not by chance. The rates at the current competitions were traditionally made on experienced Moscow and Caucasian fighters of mixed martial arts. No one could have assumed that the Chelyabinsk residents will win a triumph, since in the capital of the Southern Urals this sport is only emerging. In order for our athletes to begin to achieve results, according to experts, should have passed 10 years.

Chelyabinsk was represented by athletes in six weight categories. Unfortunately, the leading fighter of the REM-93 club, Alexei Maksimov, who won the Golden Helm Pankration International Pankration Pankration three months ago, could not participate in the championship due to injury. Instead, the winner of the international K-1 international tournament (tough form of kickboxing), the champion of Slovakia in freestyle wrestling fought.

Of the six Chelyabinsk fighters, only three athletes had experience of such performances, for three these professional competitions became a debut. In addition, a week before the fighting, the organizers changed the weight categories, and almost all the fighters of the Ural team had to urgently discard weight, some - up to five kilograms. It was not easy, especially since the athletes practically did not have excess weight. I had to starve and seriously limit water consumption. However, this only added sports aggression. Only one of the six Chelyabinsk citizens lost the final battle. All other Urals presented bright, spectacular performances, receiving the applause of spectators, cups and medals of the Russian champions in the final.

The guys demonstrated a good arsenal of freestyle wrestling techniques, and also pleased experts with elements of a little -known Gopling struggle using strangling and pain techniques. Our lightweight 70-kilogram Georgy Kulumbekov “strangled” the Penza champion. George Alborov had a very difficult dramatic battle. He came to the competition with a serious injury to the shoulder joint, performed in an elastic bandage. He fought with the Yaroslavl favorite Tarkhan Saskarishvili and at the very beginning of the fight dropped him. The blow was so accurate and strong that the judge stopped the battle. The wrestlers shook hands, the referee already intended to declare the winner, but representatives of the diaspora forced the judges to continue the fight. The defeated opponent got the opportunity to rest and inflicted many blows to the Urals. But during the struggle in the first round, George the enemy “strangled”, that is, in fact, won twice.

It is always difficult to perform in another region. Sympathy of both judges and spectators on the side of local athletes. All the more convincing were the victories of the Urals. The international master of sports in freestyle wrestling Ruslan Melikov performed perfectly. In the club he is called an intellectual. The guy is calm, benevolent, insistent. Meanwhile, during the final battle, he managed not to get a single blow and at the first minutes he defeated the strongest rival from Moscow.

The final battle of the Chelyabinsk heavyweight of the master of sports and the winner of the All -Russian freestyle wrestling Vadim Kozheev was the real decoration of the tournament. He met with a fighter from Tula. I immediately transferred the fight to the stalls and began to apply strong blows. But the judge did not stop the fight until the defeated athlete simply could resist. Three times doctors had to pump out the rivals of our fighters.

The winners of the Yaroslavl tour in September will sort things out at the Russian Championship in Moscow. And then - the world championship in micxfite. The Urals are one of the main applicants for participation in it. A high rating of the Chelyabinsk residents was given by the President of the Russian Federation of Russia Fedor Emelianenko. True, he himself could not come to Yaroslavl. Intensive training is underway. The legendary athlete is preparing for the last professional battle in his life. In St. Petersburg on June 21, the best fighter of MMA of all times and peoples will fight the champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. By this battle, Fedor intends to put a solid point in his career.

“In a small ring, you need to fight over the territory,” commented on the victory of his wards a member of the Presidium of the Union of Mixed Martial Arts of MMA Russia Vladimir Filkin, who was present at the championship. - We taught the fighters on the eve of the performance: everyone should arrange a little Stalingrad to the opponent, do not take a step. According to the president of the REM-93 club Valery Polishevsky, even on the second day after the competition, he was still worried about the guys, there was so much tension at the championship. And, of course, nothing to compare the joy of victory. The minutes of the triumph of the Chelyabinsk team will be remembered forever.
