Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died Monday morning at the age of 87 from complications of a previous stroke.
Thatcher spent 11 years as prime minister and became famous, among other things, for her economic reforms. For her inflexibility in carrying out reforms, she received the nickname The Iron Lady. Thatcher also lifted most restrictions on trading on the London Stock Exchange, laying the foundations for the formation of one of the world's largest financial centers in the British capital.
