In London, in the White Cube Gallery, on Friday an exhibition of watercolors of the German Fuhrer Adolf Hitler opened.
Below is a press release and description of the exhibition, the essence of which-Hitler painted a dull shit, and therefore, there is no need to be a genius to win the world.
I love art, but why make it a measure of everything and everything?
Given the nature of the exhibition and the scandalous reputation of those who organized this exhibition (British artists Jake and Dainzos Chapman, who once became famous for their mannexes of children with genitals instead of people), can only sympathize that contemporary art is completely cynical and rational.

"The exposition is called" Behler Hipar, however we are all happy. "
Few people know that before the beginning of his political career, Hitler tried himself as an artist and even tried to enter the Vienna Academy of Arts. In the period from 1910 to 1913, the future Fuhrer, according to his own memories, wrote more than a thousand paintings. Initially, they went for miserable pennies (Hitler traded them on the street and in beer), but after the author came to power in the 1930s, the cost of paintings increased sharply. Nowadays, the Chepmen brothers spent 115 thousand pounds or 230 thousand dollars on the work of the Fuhrer.
The watercolors of the Fuhrer are Seryoya of boring and prototypes, as well as several sketches of a small format. The Brothers of the Chepmens transformed them, more precisely, as the Gallery administration is expressed, they “annihilate”, drawing in the background of each rainbow drawing, psychedelic heavens, flying hearts and emoticons. The resulting cycle of work is now put up for sale for 685 thousand pounds.
The brothers said that they would not be surprised if their works were met with indignation, but did not agree with the statements that their creations offended the feelings of people or are an attempt to cash in on Hitler's sad fame.
Tim Marlowe, director of White Cube in exhibition activities, assures that the project of the Brothers Chapmenov is not an attempt to exalt Hitler's work. “It is impossible to suspect that they have been offering these works on some kind of pedestal there,” he said. - These are very bad watercolors - just miserable - and Jake and Dainos are now annihilated. We bought work anonymously, because we did not want to increase the demand for Hitler's works. ”
Hitler’s creations in their original form “so fresh and blessed” that they cannot guess about the monstrous inner world of the author, the brothers of the Chapman noticed. They tried to use these works to study one of their favorite topics - attention to the psychology of the artist in isolation from his work as such.
Jake, the youngest of the brothers, said: “Outdating works of art, people are certainly looking for signs in work, indicating a certain psychological trauma or exposing the heart of the artist, instead of trying to understand how the work itself works, how it fulfills its function.”
“When you look at Hitler’s paintings, you try to determine whether their author was sick or crazy, or he was obviously such, because he later interrupted seven million people. But these works themselves contain nothing offensive to feelings. ”
“Hitler’s mediocrity and the antiquity of the artist testify that for the organization of genocide it is not necessary to be a genius or psychopath, and in this sense his paintings have a certain value as monuments of history,” said James Smith, Executive Director of the Holocaust Center in New Arc.
