Yesterday, in the open spaces, Runet stumbled upon a very relevant site on the day of May 9. The project is called “winners”. Here, in fact, what the developers say about the project itself:

“Our project is a civil initiative of private individuals and companies; its goal is to express gratitude to those who won the Great Patriotic War. We hope that our project will draw attention to the war participants and remind you that we can still say thank you to many veterans.

We believe that the gratitude of the descendants should be not general, but a personified nature-therefore, an important part of the project is the name of the veterans who met the 60th anniversary of Victory. We want to express personal gratitude to each of them. We want to remind you that these people live next to us, in our city - perhaps they need our help; They need us to hear them.

Today, the Internet gives us the opportunity to tell us in a new way, what would this war would be sided with our grandfathers. Using a visualized model of a interior, we tried, avoiding pathos and assessments, to combine historical facts, modern memories and archival chronicles. We hope that this is not only helping to clearly imagine a holistic picture, but also initiates a dialogue between generations: the memories included in the project is only a small part of what the mobblers can tell. ”

The main “chip” of the site, in my opinion, is the multimedia map of the war, which very clearly shows all the combat operations taking place in the first weeks of the war or during the liberation of Europe. From the very beginning of viewing, you can familiarize yourself with the directive of Hitler, the Barbarossa plan.

The following is a map itself, on which, using Flash, animation shows all the movements of the troops on the map. All this action is accompanied by various documentary videos, veterans stories, photographs, documents and historical information. When viewing, you can “suspend the war” by pause, turn on or off the sound of music playing on the background, with arrows on the keyboard you can move the time (-5/+5 sec.). Everything is very convenient, interesting and informative. I advise everyone to visit this project and remember how it was!
