Weather and health

On the European territory of Russia, due to the efforts of southern cyclones, damp and warm weather is still maintained. In the next 24 hours, in the center of Russia, under the influence of the cyclone, there will be precipitation again, heavy in places, wet snow may stick to wires and tree branches, the south wind will keep the warm air with a daytime temperature of -4...+2oC. On February 18, the central regions of Russia will find themselves in the cold rear part of the cyclone, during the day the temperature will drop to -1...-6°C, and snow will fall from time to time. In the northwestern region, as the cyclone approaches, there will be snow, a slight snowstorm is possible, daytime temperatures will be 0...-5°C.

There is snow, sleet, and icy roads in the capital; minimum temperature 0...-2оС, during the day 0...+2оС, wind south-east, 4--9 m/s.

There is snow and a slight blizzard in St. Petersburg. Air temperature at night is -6...-8oC, during the day -2...-4oC.

On Tuesday, in most of the European territory of Russia, the weather pattern will change little: it will be damp and noticeably warmer than usual. Due to the high air humidity, it will be difficult for people with diseases of the joints and spine. And the reduced oxygen content in the air can provoke a deterioration in health in people with respiratory diseases and heart failure. Even completely healthy people on such gloomy days can experience drowsiness, increased nervousness, and decreased performance. On Wednesday in the center of Russia the air temperature will drop, and the oxygen content, on the contrary, will increase. This will lead to increased accidents on the roads and an increase in injuries on uncleaned frozen sidewalks.
