The Wooden Architecture Square was opened in Tomsk on October 7.
It appeared at the intersection of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Herzen streets on the site of a demolished wooden house.
In the new park, Tomsk residents can see exact copies of carved wooden frames. Garden sofas and a cascading fountain were installed in the park, and paving slabs were laid. The main attraction of the Wooden Architecture park was the tripartite coat of arms of Tomsk. It is made of wood. Its three sides symbolize the eras of the city's development.
According to the head of the Sovetsky district administration, Sergei Avtomonov, the park improvement project was presented at the mayor’s office in 2012.
“The idea that the administration team had was fully realized here. This is a unique landscaping project. This is not only a place for mass recreation for Tomsk residents, but also an object with a colossal information component. There will also be a small wooden pavilion with openwork decorations for selling periodicals and souvenirs,” said Sergei Avtomonov.
The investor will be responsible for the park.
