| Moscow will host a week of Old World films An exquisite cinematic spectacle awaits moviegoers in the capital. From April 30 to 6, the Cinema Center on Krasnaya Presnya and the Cinema Museum will host a week of European films, “Cinema Panorama of the European Union Countries.” As part of this project, viewers will be able to see more than twenty full-length feature films and several animated films shot by directors from almost all EU countries - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and others. With rare exceptions, all films were released this or last year, and the genre range of the program is so wide - from surrealism to social dramas - that the Moscow viewer should have a clear impression of European cinema at the turn of the century and the view of European filmmakers on their country, their neighbors, people and history. Those who want to go to “everything” will most likely have the opportunity, since the prices for entrance tickets are quite low by today’s standards (30-50 rubles), and some films are shown on repeat. We recommend not to miss the Swedish “Songs from the Second Floor” by Roy Andersson, “Breaking Away!” the young Englishman Justin Kerrigan, “Lovers of the Arctic Circle” by the Spaniard Julio Medem and “The Captive” by the Belgian Chantal Ackerman.
