| Chelyabinsk and Bashkir police officers argue about the cleanliness of their uniforms In Chelyabinsk, a criminal case regarding the kidnapping of a resident of Ufa received an unexpected continuation. In response to accusations from South Ural police officers voiced from Bashkiria, Chelyabinsk residents presented evidence of corruption in the republican traffic police.
Let us recall that on May 30, employees of the Organized Crime Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkiria detained in Chelyabinsk two local police officers who were suspected of kidnapping a resident of Ufa. According to the investigation, the head of the department for solving vehicle thefts of the Traktorozavodsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Chelyabinsk, Alexander Likhachev, together with a colleague, helped his friend solve problems with the car. At the end of April it cost 167 thousand rubles. purchased a VAZ-2114 from Ufa resident Rustem Akhmerov, and when he tried to register the Volga, he discovered that the car was on the wanted list. The seller refused the demand to return the money for the car, after which the Chelyabinsk resident turned to his friends in uniform.
On May 27, on Oktyabrya Avenue in Ufa, an unlucky resident of Bashkiria was pushed into a car and taken to Chelyabinsk. The prisoner spent two days in an office at the Traktorozavodsky district police department, after which he was allowed to call home and ask his wife to return the money for the car. But together with his wife, officers from the Organized Crime Control Department of Bashkiria arrived at the meeting place and arrested their Chelyabinsk colleagues, charging them with kidnapping and extortion. At the end of last week, acting The head of the Chelyabinsk Internal Affairs Directorate, Viktor Ebinger, stated that his subordinates did not kidnap anyone, but carried out operational actions in Ufa as part of a criminal case of corruption.
This criminal case was opened on April 1 at the Traktorozavodsky District Department of Internal Affairs. According to investigator Andrei Fomenko, a VAZ-2114 car was stolen from a resident of the area, and a case was opened at the police department based on this fact. They managed to identify the car on May 20, when they tried to register it with the traffic police with the wrong numbers. During the interrogation of the car owner, it turned out that he purchased it in Ufa from Akhmerov. Mr. Likhachev, whose friend was involved in this story, volunteered to detain him. Mr. Fomenko claims that the detention of the Bashkir occurred with the sanction of the investigation for interrogation. The interrogation was conducted at the Traktorozavodsky District Department of Internal Affairs and revealed a lot of interesting details. In particular, Akhmerov said that he bought a car in Ufa for the purpose of resale and was immediately warned about its “dark” past. Mr. Akhmerov did not hide the sellers of the car, saying that they work in a separate regiment of the Ufa traffic police. After these confessions, the Bashkir Organized Crime Control Department carried out its operation, during which the policemen who interrogated Akhmerov were arrested.
According to Mr. Fomenko, the investigation period in the criminal case has now been extended, since Chelyabinsk police want to interrogate employees of the Ufa traffic police. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkortostan refused to comment on new details of the case. And the department for investigating murders and banditry of the Bashkortostan prosecutor’s office, which opened a case against the Chelyabinsk police officers, reported that the investigation had been extended to study new circumstances, noting that those arrested do not admit guilt.
