| There was a terrorist attack on the city market An explosion occurred at the Samara clothing market in the Sovetsky district of the city near the Kirovskaya metro station on Friday at 13:04 local time (12:04 Moscow time). An explosive device went off. It consisted of 1 kg of plastic. The explosive device was activated using a fuse cord. The blast wave destroyed 10 containers. The power of the device was 1 kg of TNT equivalent.
According to preliminary data, the explosive device was planted on the side of the railway tracks behind the trade containers.
Earlier it was reported that two oxygen cylinders exploded at a clothing market. The number of victims as a result of the explosion is constantly increasing. According to the latest data, 10 people were killed and 38 were injured. This was reported to RBC by the Samara Region Emergency Department.
Among the dead were teenagers. As a source in the regional health committee told RBC, two boys, 13 and 14 years old, and an 18-year-old girl died in the Semashko city children's hospital.
As RIA Novosti was told in the information department of the Samara Internal Affairs Directorate, after the explosion one of the women suffered premature birth.
The explosion destroyed ten commercial containers. Literally a few meters from the explosive device stood a train with tanks filled with diesel fuel.
