The search for people who survived the earthquake in the city of Bam in southeastern Iran has been stopped. Despite the fact that a 6-month-old girl was found alive under the rubble on Monday, experts believe that there is virtually no hope of finding survivors. Rescue efforts are now focused on providing medical care to the victims: up to 2 thousand people were pulled out alive from the rubble, and the possibility of epidemics cannot be ruled out. According to doctors, the number of victims of the tragedy could reach 30 thousand in the coming days. In the 3 days since the earthquake, according to local authorities, the bodies of 25 thousand dead were buried.
