So far, the Latvian government is firmly aware of the economic crisis and reduces 45% subsidies in agriculture in 2009, some farmers have not lost hope and even plan to deploy their business ... This business is biological agriculture. Family Gryve is one of the few that producing environmentally friendly products for local markets. After Mara and Uldis received the land of parents, they decided to move from city to village and start working on a farm. This happened in 2005, and they do not regret this decision. Now their whole life depends on animals - selling meat of cows and sheep, they can receive money and at the same time have healthy food on their own table. Another reason for moving is children. As Maara Griva says: "I want my children to live in a good environment and eat clean food." Despite the poor economic forecasts for the next couple of years, Mara and Uldis are optimistic. “There is no crisis if you don’t watch TV,” they laugh.

The process of working on a photo historia:
The most difficult task was to find a family. I talked with 6 families-someone did not answer my letters, others did not find time to photograph. I also think that it would be much easier if I had a newspaper or a magazine that I can refer to. When I found a family, I was very happy. The only problem was that I could not stay at night in their house (they simply did not have an extra bed), and I had to come there twice. I also felt that on the second day our relationship became closer and confidential. I was great with them, I hope I would visit them in the summer. (Ivetta)
