Vladislav Galkin died

Today on the Rossiya channel the show of the new series “Kotovsky” will begin. The title role stars actor Vladislav Galkin. As it turned out, this was his last role.

The young, simple-looking, charming actor was remembered by viewers after the popular TV series “Truckers.” And few people then remembered the real debut of the artist, who at the age of nine played Huck Finn in Stanislav Govorukhin’s film “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.”

It was between Huck and Kotovsky that his life passed.

Vladislav Galkin grew up in an acting family, his father is the famous actor Boris Galkin, but his grandmother secretly took the boy away from his parents for his first screen tests. The first role was followed by others - leading roles in the films “That scoundrel Sidorov”, “The Golden Chain”, “Aborigine”.

It is clear that the choice of acting profession was completely inevitable for him. He graduated from the Shchukin School in 1992. But there were no roles. In Soviet times, an actor with such an appearance would have been in great demand - Galkin was ideal for the role of a working guy, then it was called the “role of a social hero.” However, the time was different, and the cinema then needed different faces. After wandering around for two years without major roles, Galkin even entered VGIK to study at the directing department...

But in 2000, Vladislav received a role in the film “In August 1944,” one of the rare films at that time with an interesting script and a fairly large budget. The film was noticed, Galkin played well, he was even given the Nika Award in the Discovery of the Year category. And the next year he was invited to the TV series “Truckers”, to play one of the two main roles, and here fate seemed to smile on him. After her, roles began to be offered in abundance in TV series - “Special Forces”, “Beyond the Wolves”, “The Master and Margarita”, where Galkin very successfully played Ivan Bezdomny, “Plot”, “Saboteur”, and in films - but here he hardly came across any interesting pictures.

Unfortunately, the actor suffered from the eternal Russian disease, which complicated his life and relationships with employers. During the filming of “Kotovsky” this summer, he held on, but then let go. The last six months turned out to be very difficult - a divorce from his wife, a famous incident in a bar, after which there was a trial, health problems... The actor's condition worsened until a tragic ending came.

Seven years ago, in an interview, Galkin was asked when his turn as a director would come. And he replied: “Everything has its time. In order not to redo it later, you need to know exactly when to start... I had the opportunity to launch a picture, but I will never take on something that I am not one hundred percent sure of. I know that the time will come when I will say to myself: “Vlad, it’s time, go ahead!”

That time never came. Vladislav Galkin will be buried on March 2 at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
