All designers always strive to decorate their clothes in all ways. Some do this with a complex cut, others focus on fabric, and some use such a technique as a patch for clothes. Moreover, the strip has recently become very popular.

The patch on clothes, depending on its type, carries a different semantic load. Chevrons and stripes in army uniforms are indicators of the rank of soldier. Latches with various symbols show a person’s belonging to a particular social group (enterprise, club, educational institution, and so on).

But there are purely decorative stripes on clothes - from fabric, braid, lace, which are exclusively aesthetic significance.
Modern fashion designers borrowed patchings from fabric on clothes from the ancient cultures of the peoples of the world. In past times, any tissue strip on people's clothes had a special meaning. Depending on the direction in which the braid was sewn, or on how it was folded, people immediately recognized who from which settlement and from which people. Such elements of differences, for example, used the northern peoples of Russia.
Nowadays, decorative stripes are made of braid, ribbons, rhinestones and many other materials. Fathers from a tape in the form of flowers are capable of any even simplest dress to make an amazing evening outfit.

Dresses with a decorative strip of braid, sewn along, look elegant and sophisticated. Such a dress visually makes the figure more slender, and the legs are longer. Young Russian designers also sometimes use a decorative strip of clothes in their collections.
