Synoptix: Guitar & Beatbox

Synoptix is ​​a unique project for Russia. Its uniqueness consists of a number of reasons. Some follow from the listener impressions and can be challenged. Others are irrefutably innovative techniques and finds of children in the field of creating music.

The Synoptix experiment is that the bitbox is moved to the central compositional place; He ceases to be simply an extraordinary accompaniment and acquires some musicality. At the next stage of the electric guitar, in combination with the processor replacing all other possible tools, is connected to the bitbox. There is a fusion of two sounds, which in some compositions is complemented by a saxophone. The resulting multi-level and complex sound is truly eclectic: Bitbox plus classic musical instruments plus effector and processor.

The main impression of listening to Synoptix is ​​probably that their work has features that are more characteristic of foreign, Western than Russian music. This feeling appears when the music is created for the sake of music, that is, in the absence of social subtext, bindings to the specific realities of life; when the quality of the recording coincides with the quality of live performances; when only pleasant feelings and emotions arise from listening (if arise); When music is absolutely creating an atmosphere of lightness, a certain mood. All this is in Synoptix, and is also complemented by the sparkling charm of the guys.

Guys, tell us the story of creating your group.

Vitaly: Denis loves to answer this question.

Denis: Vitaly and I were born on the same day, March 9th. In 2009, it occurred to us to please friends invited to a party dedicated to a common holiday: we made a small concert with a bitbox and a guitar. The people who gathered then reacted well. But at first it was just an interesting experiment. We did not even expect that some more events and performances would follow him. We liked the result, and we decided to continue to work.

What did each of you do before Synoptix?

Q: Before Synoptix, I spoke at Drum & Bass events with a friend-Digzha-I diluted musical settings with a bitbox.

D: And I played in the Martira group.

Why Synoptix?

Q: I don't know why ... I had a temperature. In general, it was necessary to come up with a name in order to sign ready -made topics and tracks. And the group should have the name ... The word synoptix just occurred to it. Then I kind of listened to the radio.

D: SYNOPTIX is unlikely to mean something, it just sounds good.

How can you determine the style in which you play?

Q: Recently, in Chelyabinsk we were soldered by Loop-Core ...

D: So let there be a look-core.

What are you working on now?

Q: Above yourself ... Well, this is so, in general terms. We prepare a new material, which was already gained in the second album.

D: Recently, we finished the joint track “Eyes” with the Kurara group. By the New Year, the track should take place, created with one girl from Kharkov. Who is she is still a secret. Now he is already going to mastering. And after that, we have plans for the second album. It is partially recorded: Bitbox for six to seven tracks, some guitars and bass gitars are already ready.

Does the work on the second album differ from the recording of the first?

Q: Yes, changes are felt for the better. We notice old mistakes, we work on their correction.

D: Tesla, in particular for me, was heavy in his creation. This was the first serious experience. Roughly speaking, we did not know how to do it at all. How to take and write an album? .. What is needed for this? It was difficult in technical terms ...

Q: Unknown.

D: ... and in emotional. I think that the second album will be easier.

What is the most grandiose, mass performance at the moment?

D: September 18, 2010 we performed with DUB FX. The big audience received us well.

Q: Many came from other cities to look at us.

D: Not a fig not on Dub fx, of course :)

Having such an experience, you can say, you like to perform more on a big stage or still in clubs?

D: In my opinion, in my opinion. If a large event is taking place, and a thousand people are standing in front of you - this is one. And in clubs - different. But I do not think that we have a stadium group. Again, on a large site, I feel comfortable, and our sound is enough.

Q: And the “regime of God” turns on well ... And it is nice to play in small clubs, because they are comfortable and people who came to the concert are close to you. There are no comfort on large sites, everything is spatial there.

Is there someone similar to you on the Russian stage?

D: There are those that also use a look-station. It is “Songs” that we are probably creating only we.

Q: Those few who look like us are emphasized precisely on Bitbox. And we have a complex sound.

D: They create more than music, but a show. And their goal, respectively, is to come and show some fischets. Synoptix does not have such a task, we want to engage in music ...

Almost two years have passed since the beginning of the joint work of Vitaly and Denis. During this time, they published Tesla's debut album. They performed with DUB FX & Flower Fairy (Australia), Mr.woodnote & Lil Rhis (UK), Animaljazz, Toho Do, Cheese People, Sunsay, Curera, Sansara.
