In the first round, the teams did not impress with their performance: only 14 goals in eight matches. The overall picture was somehow corrected only by the army team, who managed to break through their former goalkeeper Novosadov four times, and “Saturn” won an unconditional victory in Yaroslavl.
Bombardier. The first goal in the championship was scored by Samara Brazilian Gaushu. The affection of Krylia Sovetov coach Alexander Tarkhanov for Brazilian football players has been known for a long time. He was the first coach who invited decent players from this country to the Russian championship. Last year’s acquisition of Tarkhanov, forward Angelo, loudly declared himself as a productive striker in the first round, now all the hopes of Samara fans are connected with Gaushu, about whom Tarkhanov said: “He is the same as Angelo, only better.”
However, Gaush's goal did not allow Krylia Sovetov to win their first victory in this championship. “Uralan” managed to win back thanks to the scoring strike of Tsiklauri, who spent the best years of his career in Samara.
Sensation. Spartak traditionally does not start the new season very well, preferring to make up for lost time in the summer. But if earlier Romantsev’s team had good excuses - for example, the timing of the European season was too inconvenient, this time the draw with Rostselmash significantly spoiled the mood of Spartak fans. In turn, the Rostov team, whose coach Anatoly Baidachny set the club the task of taking a place in the top three, proved that it can achieve the desired result. However, in this match there was luck on the side of the Rostovites: Spartak's Parfenov missed a penalty, hitting the post with the ball.
Defeat. Only CSKA managed to win big in the first round. Moreover, for almost a half and a half, the army team could not make a single shot on target at the Torpedo-ZIL goal. CSKA was helped by the removal of car manufacturer Musatov just before the break. In general, the referee of this meeting, Yuri Baskakov, was very strict. Already in the first half, the referee showed red cards not only to Musatov, but also to the army player Semak and the torpedo player Kurtiyan.

Having come on as a substitute in the second half, the forward managed to score three times in the 45 minutes of playing time allotted to him.
