Once upon a time I started to do one project. This is a multimedia map called "Lost Ossetia." Lost, because the abandoned villages of North Ossetia are applied to the map, and also because there are almost all cultural monuments on the map, the bulk of which is not in the best condition. Few people get to our places, and no one goes to the highlands in the highlands. And therefore, at least in my posts I will slowly show you what North Ossetia is. Who cares will look, who does not, will run further. So. Let's go!

The village is located in the Mamison Gorge at the mouth of the Bubydon River. The first settlers of the village was the surname of Gaevo. In addition to them, representatives of another 8 names lived in Kalak. Now in the place of this rather large settlement only ruins. The average age of which leads us to the Middle Ages.
A small river flows next to Kalak-Huyssag Don-a sleeping river, Sonya-River, which has a feature of "hiding". In winter, it practically dry out, and in the summer appears again. One legend is connected with this river from the natives of Kalak:
“Several centuries ago, one of the inhabitants of Kalak, from the surname of Gaevo, who lived in the old tower (Zærond Mæsyaja), married one young girl, whom the mother-in-law for some reason disliked and forced to work a lot. Once, during the absence of a son, the mother-in-law demanded that a young daughter-in-law with sunrise go alone on the field to press bread and that in the evening such a section of the Niva, which could only be bumping in three days (i.e., about 1.5 tithes). This Niva lay just near the named source. The poor daughter-in-law will be willy-nilly to go to the indicated place to burn bread. Having come to the spring, she washed her water and began to ask him for help to end this mother -in -law assignment.
After that, she began to reap, and indeed, to sunset, she graduated from this whole site, and squeezed 160 crooks of bread, an apothe, weary and exhausted by an excessive work, again came to the spring to wash her water again and go home. Having washed, she sat down to wipe her face and tie her head; At this time, the spring, taking pity on her and wanting to reward her for exorbitant work, threw her the following things: one golden scallop, a couple of gold stockings and gold scissors.
Thanking the spring for the gifts, she went home and, having come to the room, sat near the hearth and laid out her gifts in front of her grumpy mother -in -law and husband. Then she told them how she graduated from the harvest and how, as a reward for overwhelming work, the spring threw her expensive gifts. Having said this, she died at that very moment. And she was buried near the spring, which after that received a wonderful properties to hide and appear again. ”
Now almost no one is going to the Kalak. Unless the car will pass, and even that, it is unlikely to stop. Former residents of Kalak had long parted: who moved to the plain, who sat down to others. So now the village was completely lost among the mountains.
