ANTHONY PAPPA

This legendary Australian of Italian descent showed his remarkable talent as a DJ at the age of 15, winning the DMC championship and the Mixmag magazine competition. Having become a star overnight in his native Melbourne, Anthony decided to try his luck and went to distant Britain.

Taking with him a bag of records, Anthony arrived in Southampton. It was here that he met people who would later have a huge influence on his musical career. The famous David Seaman, having heard the young talent’s set, was indescribably delighted and immediately organized Papp’s long-awaited tour. And friendship with sound engineer and sound producer Alan Bremner resulted in the Freefall project, whose amazing hit “Skydive” was re-released dozens of times (including on one of the world’s best labels - Renaissance) and was included in almost a hundred different compilations, becoming one of the main club anthems of the nineties.

Since then, Anthony Pappa has traveled all over the world, released many super-successful compilations (“The Journey”, “Resolution”, two parts of “Renaissance: The Classics”, etc.), appeared on the cover of DJ Magazine, launched his own label Red Light District and became into one of the most respected artists in the house scene, whose authority cannot be questioned. He's been called one of the most technical DJs on the planet - and you can hardly argue with that.

In May 2008, Anthony Pappa released a new, long-awaited compilation “Moments”. The Versus Club was featured in the official advertising campaign for this 3xCD mix of the legendary Australian on the pages of iDJ Magasine and Mixmag, and Versus is where the premiere of this unique collection will take place.
