The anniversaries of the October Revolution in the Tomsk region have long been celebrated on a small scale. There were no demonstrations of thousands of people. The holiday was turning from a national holiday into another historical date. The awards, which the main Tomsk newspapers wrote about at that time, had long been gathering dust in safes, and for the then leadership of the city and region were no longer a reason for pride.
