The Soviet propaganda's response to the boycott of the 1980 Olympics was the rather boring cartoon "Baba Yaga Vs." Nowadays, few people remember both the boycott and the cartoon.
Everyone mainly remembers the tears of joy on the faces of the spectators seeing off the Olympic Bear. It just so happened that after 34 years the epic heroine Yaga haunts me. Does this make me feel good? No!!!
Even the ancient Greek philosophers said that people who are deceived by what is happening on stage are wiser than those who are not deceived. And I might add, happier. So, without any wisdom, let's get started.
Happy are the people who are proud of their country. A country famous for its victories in labor and sports. A country whose passport can be pulled out with dignity from whatever width of trouser legs you like and shown to stunned residents of other countries and continents, looking at you with timid envy.
“Wow!”, envious foreigners will exclaim, “the longest route of the Olympic flame!” And they launched into space and sank to the bottom. We climbed the mountain and reached the pole. Everything for the people of this country!
The fire will sweep through cities and villages and many, many problems will be solved thanks to the bright, unquenchable flame. But the selfish infidels will remember that the nasty Baba Yaga lives in their infidel land. Who cannot calmly rejoice for the beautiful Russia. Yaga, who, in addition to toad eyes, collects all sorts of nasty things about the bright holiday of sports. Let's say that while several thousand are running around with fire all over the country, several million continue to sit around nothing.
Okay, sit down. Many are still sick and simply need help. About the fact that Baba Yaga collects that they came up with the idea of running with fire turns out to be in Nazi Germany. I wonder why Hitler needed mass sports shows? Bread and circuses. Can't argue with that. Let's eat, let's take a look. Fire generally leads as a subject for viewing.
But the old woman won’t calm down. Nature, he says, was spoiled, people were kicked out of the land and everything was built at random. It wouldn't work out. In general, there are shortcomings everywhere. And a strong opponent does you credit. You can suffer a worthy defeat from a strong opponent. If enemy saboteurs, dying in the hundreds, breaking through the iron chains of the defenders of the Olympic flame, would burst into the torch burner warehouse and, with the last of their strength, would chew through a couple of hundred gas tubes. If they, having insidiously exhaled part of the Russian gas, before their dog-like death, would have plugged up a couple of hundred more pipes with their clumsy fingers (thus ruining them), but the valiant fair-haired girls and blue-eyed boys, with the help of duct tape and faith in a bright future, would have adjusted almost all the torches. And only a small part of them went out...
This would be the story of the great confrontation between good and evil! So, having slightly exceeded the construction estimate, you can also save on the symbol? The epic nature of the story is not very epic.
And yet I am proud of the level of abstract thinking of both Tomsk residents and many Russians who welcome the Olympic symbol with open hearts.
But to me, who is not far-sighted, it seems that the fire is different. Not the one. And with the first extinction, and with subsequent ones, did it not slightly lose its sacred meaning? Although several compositions of the “Tender May” group traveled around the country. Everyone liked it. In form, everything seems to be in order. The main thing is brighter and more surprising.
There is a fable "The Monkey and the Glasses". I worked in shifts on the radio with an acquaintance. I left, he came. And so we came up with the idea of doing all sorts of stupid things with each other’s shoes. I come in the morning. My shoes are hanging on the ceiling, he comes - he’s in the fan. Everything progressed, but a week later it ended, because the last straw was a pyramid of tables and chairs collected from almost the entire office. Everything was covered with carpet, covered in wires, and there were shoes hanging from several microphone stands, crowned with crumpled newspapers. We decided that it was no longer possible to surpass THIS. And they stopped.
Question: will there be no more Olympics?
And the athletes are good. They are really great and above all this. Show it to everyone in Sochi!!!
