Resistance 2

The game Resistance offers us an alternative version of the story in which the fall of the Tungusky meteorite had very serious consequences for humanity. For example, the Second World War was not there, because aliens attacked the planet.

By the will of the screenwriters, Russia was rubbed from the face of the earth first, then the infection crawled to the west, where they tried to fight off the invaders. Resistance 2 begins immediately after the events from the first part: the war is in full swing, people learned to use the weapons of aliens. The main feature of Resistance is the original guns.

During aiming, a sniper rifle slows down the time, the machine gun allows you to set a protective screen for a while. There are more exotic things. For example, a plasma machine, which can shoot an anomaly into which you can discharge the store, after which it will turn into an analogue of mines - all the cartridges that are in an anomaly suddenly fly in all directions. It is enough to pick up one of the special machines, and all opponents will be visible through the walls. Or this dreamer’s dream is a gun shooting with circular blades that will be ricotted from the walls and scatter in arbitrary order.

Each of the types of weapons is sharpened to destroy certain enemies. Hordes of fast insect -like creatures are most conveniently shot from a machine gun, and a variation on the theme of a predator, when a huge monster becomes only a couple of seconds before it drives you off your feet and is torn to tear apart, it is better to delight with a lead from the Scotgan. At a certain moment, entire quarters and houses appear, where cocoons from the "zombies" grow. Weak and stupid, they take speed and number.

Online is even more interesting: in addition to the usual modes, there is a cooperative passage. The game clearly wants to try to compete with GEARS of War 2 - timidly, because the mode is not the main one. You and your friends go through the same levels as in a single campaign, but the tactics itself are changing seriously, because each of the team has its own responsibilities - the doctor must support the health of partners, the strongest fire takes on himself, etc.

Of course, the most interesting is the bosses. The game begins with the destruction of a huge robot, after which periodically you will have to fight with several more monsters, and these meetings will not be pleasant. The scene with one of these bosses resembles the film “Monstro” - the creature the size of the building destroys everything around him, breaks the buildings and knocks helicopters with one wave of his hand.

In fact, resistance 2 is just a beautiful shooter, linear and straightforward. But the plot and surroundings of global destruction, war with alien invaders, the expectation of another fight with a huge boss - all this holds by the screen to the final credits. Compared to the first part, Resistance 2 was seriously prettier and corrected all the shortcomings, so there is a hope that the third part can even become a revolutionary one - the Universe allows, there would be a desire of developers.
