David Kennedy ( David Kennedy (in the musical world, better known as Ramadanman and Pearson Sound - one of the youngest and most promising representatives of innovative electronics. Starting a career with the sale of his music in the form of MP3 through forums, today he is a co-owner of one of the most discussed Hessle Audio dubes, which has a permanent residence in the famous Fabric club, works closely with such a large label as Soul Jazz , and also enjoys the support of such dance music mastodons, for example, Ricardo Villalobos ( Ricardo Villalobos ), and even writes music for films. One of the latest Ramadanman achievements is the recording of the next Dubstep Allstars mix for Tempa label, which implies unconditional recognition of the Dubstepstezen of his contribution to the common cause.
On Saturday, November 14 , the British Ramadanman and Jack Sparrow will first perform in Russia on the continuation of the Inwave Capital Bass parties in the MSPRKT club. In honor of which we talked with Ramadanman.

Hello, please, please for our readers.
I am a Devid, I am 21 years old, and I make music under a number of various pseudonyms, such as Ramadanman and Pearson Sound .
When did you start writing music, and when did it acquire a serious character?
Even when I was much younger, I took piano lessons, and in general I was always interested in music. It began to become more serious when I began to listen and write dubstep.
In some ways, you can call you a newcomer to the dart-scene. How did you get into it?
I wrote something gram, and someone commented that it sounds like a dubstep. I did not hear anything about the dubstep, so I had a little study on this topic, and so joined. It was around 2005.
How did the idea to start the Hessle Audio label?
My friends and I, Ben Ufo ] and Kevom [ Pangaea ], decided to launch a label in 2006. We were sent a lot of interesting music, and time seemed suitable.

The music was sent for your show on Sub.fm ? Tell me a little about it.
Yes, we have a Sub.fm show called Ruffage Sessions. Bas mainly leads it, but I also lead the show from time to time. I didn’t do this for some time, so it would be nice to get the air in the near future.
You, with Hessle Audio releases, made the effect of an exploding bomb in the press and in general on stage. What do you think is the reason for this success?
I can’t say for sure, but personally I am very critical of my own material, and I will not release the track if I myself do not like it myself.
You are driving a three -year label. And how is the process of choosing the following releases? There must be a unanimous consent or something like that?
Ha ha, sometimes we disagree with each other! But we all have similar tastes and sometimes we change our opinion. Sometimes you must listen to something several times or even for several months before you can appreciate it in full.
And how is work on your own tracks? In general, what are you working on now?
At the moment, I have many unrelated works that I constantly finish until they seem truly cool. Now I am mainly concentrated on more dance music, more rude than part of my other works, and strongly inspired by Baltimore and Jangle.

You write music under different pseudonyms. How do you determine which sound closer to the Ramadanman project, and which - to PEARSON SOUND?
In fact, I do not think that these projects differ in sound. I began to publish music under the name Pearson Sound, just to see how people will react to tracks when they are completely unfamiliar with the name of the artist. So it was not a stylistic choice.
Well, how do you like the reaction to releases under the name Pearson Sound, satisfied with her?
Yes, I was pleased that people like PEARSON SOUND material. It is always nice to see a positive reaction to tracks.
Will you continue to be published under both names or will you choose one thing? You somehow mentioned that you don't like the name Ramadanman anymore.
I really don't know, let's see in the future!
You published tracks recorded in different directions, such as Dubstep, Fanca, Drama-N-Bais ... Are there any other directions in which you want to try yourself?
I have always made music at many different pace. I am writing a house and drama-n-beis much longer than dabstep material. So I just continue to do this, and now, when my production is much better, and, accordingly, tracks, you can already think about publishing all this material.
This year there was a real dawn of Fanca , many unforgettable tracks appeared. Unfortunately, we are practically isolated from this phenomenon. Can you tell you a little about this?
In fact, I don’t really follow this scene, but I know how she influenced me and my friends. Many of us are now combining the style of Fanka with Garid and Dabstep, as a result, a new style is obtained that is difficult to describe in words! As in other directions, there are Fanks that I like, but there is that you do not like.
You have already made a lot of remixes on a variety of musicians. And who would you like to work with?
I would still like to work with the vocalist. I hope I can work with Jamie Woon . It would also be cool to work with someone like Floating Points .
How about a solo album?
No, and there are no plans!
Why not?
I don't think it's time.
What new releases should we expect from you?
Soon I will do a 12-inch for Hemlock , and, I hope, more material for Hessle and Soul Jazz .
Ramadanman - Humber (Apple Pips Recordings)
You made a remix for Kontext , a musician from St. Petersburg. But in general familiar with the Russian scene?
No, I only know a few musicians, like Kontext or Faib . I really did not really get anything. But I heard that there are very cool parties in Russia, and people really feel music!
During your studies, you lived in France. How did you affect you that you were physically not next to the epicenter of movement in London? Managed to make contact with the local stage, what is it?
Living in France was really cool, it actually helped my language. I also met many interesting people. In France, a good scene, perhaps it is not so concentrated on producers, but there are definitely good parties and many people interested in music. I managed to make contact with the guys from the 7even label, and some local DJs from Lill.
And what do you think, living in France did not affect your sound?
Hardly. I checked some sounds of the accordion and the like, some French speech, no more. Although it was possible to help the distance.
How are you trying to say something to your set?
I just like to share new music with people, as well as listen to my own in big sound! When I play, I like to be very uncompromising, and recently I have been playing more and more in a goodns, reckless music!
You recorded a mix for Dubstep Allstars Vol. 7 ”, which will come out very soon. Tell me how it was.
Tempa asked me to record a mix about a year ago, but until June/July I was simply not ready to start. I recorded a mix in July, and for me it was a great honor. I wanted to show the diversity of Dabstep, as well as support producers whose tracks are constantly sounding in my sets. Sometimes there is too much negativity around the development of Dabstep, and I wanted to say, “Look, here you just lay good music”!

Recently, you have been traveling a lot like a DJ. Where were the most memorable parties?
Yes, I was lucky to visit many places, and this is actually cool. It’s just great to get into new places and spread music there, as well as meet people who enjoy your music. Also, visiting new cities and countries is simply amazing. From the latter, reckless nights passed in Berlin, our Ruffage party in Lids and FWD in London.
Hessle Audio on an ongoing basis began to take part parties at the Fabric club. What, in your opinion, is the most important for good night?
I think everything is in detail. For example, good monitors and equipment in general in good condition. High -quality sound is also very important. In addition, an open public and a charged bar!
Do you have any expectations from visiting Russia?
I visited St. Petersburg with my school about seven years ago, and it was actually cool! I am on a big rise from a quick visit to Moscow, as I heard that this is a completely different city. In general, I studied the Russian language at school, so perhaps I can practice upon arrival :)
Why not try right now? :) Maybe a couple of final words in Russian?
Ha ha, I can’t remember a lot, but I can say “Privet!”. I remember some selective expressions like “Krooglaya Litzo” (round face?!) And “Dostaprimichalnitzi” (monument?!). Ha ha, I'm sure this is actually with errors.
