The decline in oil prices that continued over the past month has stopped. During this time, the price of Brent oil fell from 30 to 25 dollars per barrel. The cost of Russian oil - Urals - has dropped to $22.
The downward trend in world oil prices has caused a lot of talk about the inevitable deterioration of the situation in the Russian economy, which today is heavily dependent on oil exports.
However, this week a reverse trend began on global oil markets. The record rise in prices over the past two weeks was caused by another increase in gasoline prices in the United States, as well as reports of a record and unexpected decrease in reserves of oil, gasoline and other petroleum products in this country.
As a result, September oil contracts rose in price by 2.61 percent, raising the price of Brent crude oil to $28.31 per barrel. The process of rising prices also had a beneficial effect on the prices of Russian oil - the Urals mixture rose to $24.5 per barrel.
