NOISIA is a Dutch trio that creates drum & bass, as well as breaks, house and downtempo.
NOISIA (a 180-degree turn from VISION) is a Dutch drum and bass trio from Groningen, the Netherlands, consisting of Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen, Thijs de Vlieger. The name was invented after the guys saw an upside-down videotape with the inscription Vision. Considering this a very cool sign, the guys decided to call themselves Noisia. One of the leaders of drum and bass (neurofunk). Nowadays they also write music in House and Breaks styles. The owners of two labels are Vision and Division Recordings (the second label is used to promote House and Breaks). The participants met because of their passion for graffiti at school. Nick and Tice became friends in 1998, being interested in drum and bass, they started making some of their own tunes and soon it grew into a serious passion. Martijn was on the rival team, and before the team-up, Nick and Theis hated Martijn. After several joint projects with Martijn, who was also involved in music (he is the only one from the group who has a classical piano music education, and was also interested in hip-hop), he was accepted into the team and a trio was formed. The first label that became interested in Noisia was Shadow Law Recordings, owned by Mayhem. Thus, in February 2003, Noisia's first release, “Tomahawk” (Noisia & Mayhem on Paul Reset's Nerve Recordings), was released. After this release, fame began to spread. The first tracks in the electro and breaks styles were released under different names, for example Drifter and Hustle Athletics. Eventually the decision was made to release all music under the Noisia brand.
The guys recently released another album. "Split the Atom". For the first single from the album, “Machine Gun,” the guys from SuperElectric shot this video.
