
For opening passwords for access to commercial computer networks, two fourth -year students of the faculty of mathematics and computer science of the Amur State University were sentenced by the Annunciation City Court to large monetary fines.
The court reported on Tuesday that this is the first trial in the Amur region about the hacking of computer networks, ITAR-TASS reports.
During the investigation, it was found that students entered the computer networks of the regional administration, the media, and some commercial structures. They planned to sell the received closed information to interested parties.
When making a sentence, the court took into account the confessions of the students, their youth, as well as the fact that they did not manage to use for the profit, illegally obtained by them.
