Activists of the Internet community “Roads of Tomsk” are collecting signatures for solving the problems of the Stepanovsky and Mokrushinsky railway crossings. The initiative has already been supported by more than 500 people. After the campaign is completed, letters with collected autographs will be sent to the governor, mayor, as well as the management of Russian Railways.
“Sometimes you get through in a couple of minutes, sometimes you wait for an hour, sometimes it even closes every 10 minutes,” noted Igor Sashov, the initiator of the collection of signatures.
The collection of signatures is taking place on the website www.democrator.ru .
As Alexey Safronov, head of the capital construction department, told Rush Hour, next year it is planned to build a tunnel passage under the railway in the Mokrushinsky crossing area. It is supposed to be built on the first kilometer of the Bogashevsky tract. It will duplicate the Mokrushinsky crossing. In addition to installing a tunnel, the project provides for the expansion of the Bogashevsky tract to six lanes and the construction of two-level interchanges. The city administration expects to complete the preparation of documents by the end of the year.
“In January we plan to complete all the documents, and it will be possible to launch the competitive procedure. By that time, the estimated cost will be finally clear, so far the estimated cost is one billion to two billion rubles. The construction period is 12 months,” explained Alexey Safronov.
The situation with the Stepanovsky crossing is more complicated. It is impossible to build either a bridge or a tunnel there, according to the mayor's office. The reason is the abundance of underground communications and the lack of free land. An alternative exit from Stepanovka may appear with the construction of a new road to the airport.
