The American independent director Jim Jarmush became one of the prophets of the “cinema far from Hollywood” and the New York “post-New” wave of “east of paradise” in the 80s. And the tape “Alien than Paradise” (such a translation is still more precise in meaning than literally: “Equal than paradise”) first brought to the 31-year-old director international fame in the world of cinema, received a festival at the festival in Cannes and the main prize in Locerno. It cost only $ 90 thousand, but surpassed such an ultraminobeget at the box office almost 27 times!

First, in 1982, Jarmush on the remnants of the film after filming the “state of things” Vim Venders created his own black and white short film “Alien than Paradise” (in the final version it was called “New Light”). This first part of the common film talked about how, in an unacceptable, cluttered, hostile New York, she came from Hungary, wanting to “open America”, sixteen-year-old girl Eva, cousin of the protagonist Willie. And in the second short story called “one year later” they went to Willy's homeland together - in a naked one, piercing the cold through, as if devastating the soul of the outskirts of the outskirts of Cleveland in Ohio (by the way, the director himself was born in a neighboring Ecron). And in the third part, “Paradise” the same characters make a trip in the winter unusually in winter, shot in the fundamentally black and white form “Paradise Florida.” There are no inside out American movie musifs (impudently and controversial in relation to the “embodied dream” of many screen wanderers, who are just striving in the Sunny Miami, as if in the “promised land”), jims) Jarmush, in his existential parable, told with the “full of” irony and a special sense of humor, makes you almost physically feel the abandonment of the existence of eternal travelers. They are driven along the roads, like rolling, and they are exhausted from the complete futility of being anywhere in America, where they had to linger only for a moment. So all this new light turns out to be “alien more than a paradise” for expelled and not knowing peace anywhere.
