A terrorist attack against tourists has been prevented at the popular Egyptian resort: five were arrested

The Egyptian special services detained the five al-Qaeda terrorists who were preparing an attack on tourists in the famous sea resort of Sharm-Esh-Sheikh-one of the most popular among Russians.

According to the Mirror newspaper, terrorists prepared an attack on one or more hotels in which mostly tourists from Britain rest. Extremists were preparing to commit an attack on the eve of Catholic Christmas. The Daily Mail also reports the disclosure of a terrorist conspiracy.

The prepared attack on the hotel in Sharm-Esh Sheikh was supposed to resemble a series of terrorist attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai in November 2008. Then a group of terrorists who arrived from Pakistan attacked several goals, including the famous Taj Mahal hotel and the railway station. As a result, 166 people were killed, it resembles ITAR-TASS.

Five terrorists were detained with a load of weapons on the border between Egypt and the gas sector. The detainees have confiscated pistols, machine guns and portable reactive installations.

The conspiracy to commit terrorist attacks in Sharm Esh-shoikh was disclosed shortly after the leader of Al-Qaeda Aiman ​​Az-Zavakhiri called on his supporters to activate attacks , as well as capture the hostiles of the citizens of Western countries.

On the eve of the British Foreign Ministry warned of a high threat of terrorist attacks in Egypt and recommended that subjects of the country not make trips through the territory of the Sinai Peninsula. At the same time, the ministry noted that thanks to strict security measures of hotels of the resorts of Sharm-Esh-Sheikh, Taba, Nuveba and Dahab on the Red Sea coast on Sinai are safe for vacationers.
