Concept Climax

Three Coventry auto designers inspired by the carcooper Climax-F1 of the 50s decided to create an exclusive concept carp with the name “Concept Climax”.

A double concept weighing only 546 kg is set in motion due to a 273-horsepower engine operating on ethanol, with a maximum torque of 247 N/m. Acceleration to 60 miles per hour (approximately 94 km/h) is carried out in 3.4 seconds, and the maximum speed is 160 miles per hour (257 km/h). As for the transmission, it is mechanical, five -speed.

The chassis of the concept is to match the real supercar. The sports brake system consists of 340 mm perforated brake rotors and 4 piston calipers on the front axis and 280 mm rotors on the rear. The car is “shod” in 18-inch discs created from a alloy of carbon and magnesium, with dimension tires 215/35 in front and 235/35 behind.

The absence of doors, low weight, narrowed cockpit-all this is taken from a classic racing car, which in this case is successfully combined with technological innovations from Formula 1. The refueling is carried out using a portable computer, and the power unit is controlled through a special USB system.

In total, it is planned to produce up to 50 cars per year. The “Concept Climax” will cost about 52,000 euros in Europe.
