| Lakers take the lead
Basketball. NBA. Playoffs. Final. Lakers - Orlando - 101:96 (OT). The series score is 2-0.
The fate of the second match of the final series of the NBA playoffs, unlike the first meeting, was decided in a bitter struggle and required extra time, in which the Lakers proved their advantage over Orlando. The Magic, however, could have decided everything in their favor at the end of the fourth quarter. After the hosts' leader Kobe Bryant was blocked, Courtney Lee had the opportunity to bring decisive points to the guests, but his shot half a second before the siren was inaccurate. “Orlando” never recovered from this failure - the guests lost the opening period of overtime with a score of 0:7, and this handicap was enough for the hosts to win overall.
Meanwhile, it became known that the 2011 All-Star Game will be held in Los Angeles. The city will host the show for the fifth time: Los Angeles previously hosted a meeting of the best players from the West and the East in 1963, 1972, 1983 and 2004. The anniversary, 60th All-Star Game also went to Los Angeles.
West Ham sold
The English football club West Ham has changed ownership. The team was bought from Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson by the CB Holding group of companies. The deal was predicted. Icelander Gudmundsson, who had almost gone bankrupt during the financial crisis, had already mortgaged the club long ago, and the parties were only waiting for the end of the season to conclude an agreement.
“I can assure the fans that we are going to allocate money to buy new players,” main shareholder Andrew Bernhardt, who became the new president of the club, reassured the fans. “We have a two-year plan that includes improving the club's infrastructure and will begin work as soon as possible after West Ham's new management is appointed.” At the same time, the team's coaching staff, led by Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke, will remain in place.
The owner of another English club, Newcastle, Mike Ashley, announced the amount for which he is ready to sell the team. The Magpies, relegated from the Premier League, were valued at £100m. In this case, potential buyers can send their inquiries directly to the club's email address, published on the official Newcastle website.
Changes in ownership of English clubs are not accidental. Despite the fact that the English Premier League is breaking all records for revenue from sales of television rights, the total debt of its clubs is 3.1 billion pounds. The largest debt, according to The Guardian, is that of London's Chelsea - 701 million pounds. The club owes this entire amount to its owner Roman Abramovich. Manchester United are £699 million in debt after the Glazer family, which owns the team, borrowed money to buy it.
The Klitschko brothers may enter the ring against each other
Vladimir Klitschko said that he does not exclude the possibility of meeting his older brother Vitali in the ring. Previously, the Ukrainian brothers rejected such options, since both promised their mother not to fight with each other. “Seeing how much interest there is in the fight between us all over the world, Vitaly and I are thinking about talking to my mother again,” said Vladimir. - After all, after our fight it will become clear who is the best heavyweight of our time. And I assure you, if this fight takes place, it will be uncompromising. We will not feel sorry for each other."
In the meantime, WBO and IBF heavyweight world champion Vladimir Klitschko will fight his next fight on June 20 against Ruslan Chagaev. And Nikolai Valuev, who was supposed to fight the Uzbek boxer in the ring, was not happy about this, but avoided the fight, citing the fact that traces of hepatitis were found in Chagaev’s blood. “I understand why Chagaev agreed to fight against Vladimir,” Valuev told Sportbox.ru. - This is the last chance for him, because he is sick. In this situation, Chagaev is clutching at straws, and Vladimir Klitschko is trying to save the boxing evening. And I still don’t understand why Klitschko Jr. enters the ring against a man who has hepatitis. Klitschko was vaccinated against hepatitis, but is still at great risk.”

Pavlyuchenko interested the Italians
The Italian Serie A football club Roma, according to the Daily Mail, is interested in the services of Russian national team forward Roman Pavlyuchenko, who defended the colors of London Tottenham last season. The Romans are ready to pay about 10 million euros for the striker, while Spurs once bought him from Spartak for 15 million euros. However, now Tottenham is ready to part with the Russian forward, as they intend to strengthen their squad with forward Djibril Cisse.
