I remember when I lived in another country, Roman Viktyuk directed “Lolita” with the late Irina Metlitskaya in the title role.
Now I live in another country. Where Leonid Mozgovoy does not have the opportunity to stage his production based on the same novel. No censorship - the demand of the St. Petersburg Cossacks . No one knows when it started in those parts, but the fate of theatrical productions now depends on it. They are cooler than Romanov, not to mention Poltavchenko, who can only call his fellow countrymen rednecks in a confused, intellectual way.
I also remember something else: the smug faces of people with white ribbons walking from the first mass demonstration in December last year. In assessing their physiognomies, I then greatly disagreed with the exalted friends (already former, mostly women). They were delighted with these faces and called it the beginning of a new era. I was disgusted - narcissistic limitation shone on the faces of people who sat at home for ten years and watched how, step by step, laws were adopted, comparable in their significance and influence on the life of the country with the Nazi Nuremberg laws. And they realized it only when, on absolutely legal grounds, they turned out to be nobody.
But they went to the demonstration and left happy.
Now they are choosing a coordinating council for who knows what. And they are also very pleased with themselves. And a bunch of some boors in St. Petersburg are doing what the numerous apparatus of the regional committee did in Soviet times - deciding what performances people should watch. And no one resists them. And no one is particularly indignant, although this is not the first case in St. Petersburg (follow the link).
Well, yes, they will ooh and aah over this message. And Leonid Mozgovoy will remain alone with the authorities. With new power. For the one whose words and actions entail such consequences is the power.
