The traditions of Halloween
Today, a set of funny fascinating traditions remained from the ancient pagan holiday. That night it is customary to dress in costumes of evil spirits and arrange masquerades. Agree, you do not often have a chance to feel like a witch or a demon. The integral symbol of Halloween is a pumpkin head. The inside is removed from the pumpkin, the face is cut out and a candle is inserted inside. The pumpkin symbolizes simultaneously the end of the harvest, an evil spirit and the fire that repels it. So strangely concentrate ancient beliefs in one subject. The indispensable attribute of Halloween is the rite of "Trik or Trak" ("dirty trick or gift"). That night, the children knock on the houses with shouts: "Treat or trick!" - "Many or regret it!" If you do not sacrifice, these little evil demons can brutally joke over you, for example, smear the door handle with soot.
Following the Celtic legends, on the night of October 31 to November 1, the Druids - the spirits of wildlife - gathered in oak groves at the tops of the hills (the Celts considered oaks with sacred trees), lit bonfires and brought the victims to the evil spirits to propitiate them. And in the mornings, the Druids gave people coals from their bonfires so that they fired the foci of their houses. The fire of the druids warmed at home over a long winter and guarded the house from evil spirits.
At night, the girls wondered. You can throw two chestnuts into the bonfire of the druids. If the fruits are burned nearby, then the girl will live in friendship and consent with the cute, if they rumble in different directions, their paths will be dispersed in different directions. The girl could see her future husband, sitting in front of a mirror at midnight with an apple in her hand. The most bad omen was considered to be a fallen candlestick. “Evil perfumes want to extinguish the fire in the house,” the Celts believed.
The Celts believed that on the night of the New Year the border between the worlds of the dead and the living, and the shadows of the deceased in the past year visit the Earth.
In order not to become the prey of a dead shadow, people extinguished the foci in houses and dressed up as terrible as possible - in animal skins and heads, hoping to scare the ghosts that crawled out an open border. The spirits were put up for the treats to the street so that they were satisfied with this and would not break into the house. On this night, predictions were made, animals were sacrificed, and then everyone took the tongue of sacred flame to his house to light the winter hearth.
If you really want to see a witch, there is one right remedy-at midnight go out into the street, dressing a worship-smile, and go backwards. Nice meeting!

How to celebrate
If you want to celebrate the coming night of all saints, you do not have to become a “holy”, rather the opposite, collect everything that is demonic in you and go in search of pumpkin, because The main attribute of Halloween is a pumpkin lamp. To prepare this, you will need a large -sized pumpkin, obtained in the following ways:
1. Honestly purchased in the market
2. Baby washed out from granny under a plausible pretext of preparing a diet porridge
3. Independently grown on its 6 hundredths (which is already a feat in itself)
A vegetable crispy from early frost should cut off the top (a kind of trepanation of the skull, if you are a doctor, or a scalp removal, if an Indian). The contents of the pumpkin (yellow, viscous mass) are removed by all improvised means, whether it be a spoon, a knife or just hands. The curettage and rtellation of the pumpkin continues until the internal walls of the pumpkin become perfectly clean.
Now from craftsmen you can go to creativity - to cutting the eyes, nose and toothy grin. The sinister the physiognomy of your lamp turns out, the more evil spirits you can scare away from yourself on this terrible and fingered night of Halloween. Finally, you place the burning candle inside the pumpkin and return the cut “scalp” to the same place. The lamp is ready.
We proceed to the next stage of preparation for the celebration of Halloween. Take a look at yourself in the mirror. No matter how critically you relate to your own appearance, you still cannot do without makeup.
If you are not studying at the circus school, and you do not have professional makeup at hand, you will have to resort to the services of decorative cosmetics and even gouache (once a year you can sacrifice the most expensive and risk covered with an allergic rash). Turn on your imagination! Choose an image that you like: a witch, a Dracula, a rebellion, a werewolf, a werewolf, a raven, a mummy, a criminal and just a shadow of Hamlet’s father - the main thing is not to be yourself.
If you do not intend to get out of the house, but collect friends at home (the student hostel is an ideal place for Halloween), then try yourself in Body Art. With the help of ordinary gouache on the human body, you can capture everything:
1. A bat, rustling with weed wings in a black sky,
2. The skin of the tiger (killed by you on the hunt), resting on your shoulder,
3. Traces of decay and decomposition, if you have chosen the role of some troubled dead,
4. Web, with many furry spiders waiting for their prey, etc. etc.
But remember, Cinderella! After 3-4 hours, the gouache will begin to dry, crack and crumble, and the next morning, when trying to wash off yesterday, you will have to work thoroughly so as not to go to work or study with physiognomy even more terrible than the day before. But this is a prose of tomorrow morning, and now again the poetry of a terrible and fingered evening.
If you still decided to get out with friends on the street in everything that you put on and smeared yourself, do not forget that Halloween is still a Celtic holiday, and we have no indigenous Celts once, so the public will really take your noisy company for evil spirits and bypass. The law enforcement officers will not touch either, especially if there is at least one sober parliamentar among you, who can explain what the essence of the matter is (Halloween is such a pagan holiday that ...). Of course, provided that you will not play the Holy Inquisition or set fire to the churches between business.

Now, after you have gone to the songs and the passers-by crumpled, it's time for your whole company to go to some night club, where you will be missed without a ticket (if you have a costume and makeup), and there, until dawn, have fun in the society of the same ghouls awake all night.
The next morning, if your apartment smells of burnt wax and incense, and the granny in the kitchen cooks that very dietary porridge from your trophy, which means that Halloween night passed calmly and the unclean force bypassed you until the next year.
Fun Halloween!
