“The two main impressions of this campaign were meeting new and different groups of people.
The first is the sudden discovery in Kaluga of supporters of a formation completely unfamiliar to me. Aunties and uncles aged 55+, many already retired, some working somewhere, who at one time were either the first wave of Democrats or were in the Union of Right Forces. They read Facebook, Twitter and LiveJournal, are aware of everything, but have long since moved away from all these matters: a structure that could suit them in socio-political life has not appeared since the time of the Union of Right Forces, and many years have passed. Such people came to the headquarters, helped a lot, used all their connections and acquaintances, sometimes came to work directly and spent a lot of their time.
It’s obvious to the naked eye that such people are disappearing and will soon be gone.”
