
The North Korean fisherman, who was hard to hold on the bottom of an inverted wooden boat, saved the crew of the Russian transport refrigerator "Director" in the Japanese Sea.
The incident with a boat occurred approximately 150 miles south of Vladivostok, in the area of responsibility of rescuers of the DPRK, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to the Vladivostok rescue and coordination center.
Russian sailors took off the fisherman from the bottom of the boat, heated and fed him. According to the rescued, the boat turned over from the wave raised by the boat that passed earlier.
There were two people on a small wooden vessel, one drowned, the other was able to hold out in the sea, on the bottom of the boat, until the approach of the Russian refrigerator.
The incident was informed of the Naval authorities of the DPRK. And at 11:10 PM in Vladivostok time (04:10 Moscow time), the fisherman was transferred from the side of the Russian vessel to the DPRK patrol ship.
According to the head of the Vladivostok naval rescue and coordination center Alexander Gorkhenko, the fisherman’s condition is satisfactory. The ship "Director" followed the destination of Pusan of the Republic of Korea.
