The Pirate Party of Russia, which was recently refused to register, does not lose hope of legalizing - albeit in a slightly different status. In the coming days, Russian Pirates want to apply for registration of the Pirate Church.

“Our main idea is to hack the system from a legal point of view. If for a person the freedom of dissemination of information is a religious belief, then he cannot be judged by the 146th article of the Criminal Code (“Copyright Violation”), ”said Pavel Radudov, the leader of the Pirate Party of Russia.

The fundamental principle of the future church - "Copy and multiply everything that is in this world." The religious organization even has its own symbols - CTRL+C key combinations (copy) and CTRL+V (insert).

To become a parishioner and turn into the faith of the “pirates” will be quite simple. To do this, you will need to go to the church’s website and express consent with its basic principles. Such Internet church already exists in Sweden. It is called The Missanceary Church of Kopimism (from the English Copy Me - “Copy me”). “All knowledge for all, the search for knowledge is sacred, the dissemination of knowledge is sacred, the copy of the copy is sacred,” is declared on the church’s website. The organization considers the surveillance and eavesdropping to people a sinful act.

True, the Swedish “pirate” church has not yet been registered. The country's authorities argue that although the organization formed a community of adherents around it, its ideology does not constitute a new religious course. But as a party of pirates in Sweden, it exists quite officially - its representatives even received in the last elections two chairs in the country's parliament.

In Russia, the “pirates” refused to register the party on the basis that piracy, in accordance with applicable law, is defined as an attack on a sea or river ship and is a criminal offense.
