The guide to the festival of contemporary art " Living Perm ": what is there to see Permyaks and non-permans.
Tatyana Sannikova , program director of the Living Perm festival:

- “Living Perm” not only gives a report on the state of Perm art, but creates it, contributes to the emergence of new creative unions. Each festival is the interaction of participants, authors of projects, experts, curators. Over the three festival years, it was possible to form a certain creative environment around the festival.
Therefore, an important component of the festival process is a festival club - a kind of laboratory where those who wish - both participants and viewers - gather and discuss, argue, come up, communicate. This helps the festival develop. In fact, the festival already lives its own life, and we only need to delicately direct it.
The peculiarity of the “Living Perm” is also that this is not so much a festival that opens the names of new artists as a festival, which opens (or educates) new producers - people who can create and organize. A new creative generation is born, which is interesting not only to live in his city, but also to make it convenient and interesting for life.
For the first time, we collected a little more than 200 applications, last year there were twice as many, and in 2011-almost 800 (or five and a half thousand participants-if we count in people, and not in projects!). And the first applications came from Moscow and St. Petersburg - almost immediately after last year’s “Living Perm” .
"Living Perm" is trying to change the familiar environment. During the first festival, we turned residential rooms of a student dormitory and many abandoned and unused buildings into exhibition halls, and in the past, art galleries “worked” business centers, cinemas, Khrushchev. This year we are trying to breathe life into the historical building of the tobacco factory.
And here is also an aura of the historical past ... And the “old-new” spaces remain the city, are fixed in the minds of the inhabitants, and already live their own lives. For example, turn the porch and area of the organ hall into a concert venue and the open -air auditorium occurred to us first. And the implementation of the idea of the festival in 2009 cost considerable effort. Now the spectators of classic concerts, listeners of choral art and even dancing couples fit perfectly into this space. This is one of our main messages - to rethink familiar things, placing them in unusual contexts.

From June 8 to 12, 2011, the third festival “Living Perm” will be held in Perm, which this time will become part of a large period of “ white nights ”-the largest summer event in Russia. “Living Perm” forms a new “cultural layer”, the heritage of the city: the festival focuses on the achievements of the local creative community and demonstrates the best of what is in Perm. During the festival, viewers will be able to attend over 170 events, separated between five thematic directions.
So, in the framework of the Living Perm, several music festivals will be held. A completely new Permzavod, with a whole list of advanced experimental and electronic projects, will be located on the territory of the Morion plant. A grand exposition of Perm artists of different years will work in the former tobacco factory. One of the most anticipated events will take place on the theater of the theater- Hip-Hop Battle “ Battle of Three Capitals ”.

On the City Day, June 12, in the square near the Opera and Ballet Theater, they will arrange a picnic “On the grass” with two musical scenes and bonuses in the form of a food court, a market and a playground. Here, in one of the most cozy corners of the festival, everyone can spend all day.
“Living Perm” traditionally unites the city into one large festival platform. Many events will be held in the open air, and the organizers chose for these events places that were previously not involved in urban public life. “Reviving” them, the festival returns Perm integrity.
The number of participants and spectators increases annually. The past “Living Perm” was seen by more than 120,000 people - this year, thousands of people will again go out onto the streets of the city to listen, look, try and acquire all the most interesting and necessary. The festival will unite over 5,000 participants, including from St. Petersburg , Moscow , Samara , Yekaterinburg , Tyumen , as well as from Germany , Great Britain , USA . Many of them sent applications last year. Their presence confirms the importance of the festival for authors and modern Russian art.

The support of this event was carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Youth Policy and Mass Communications of the Perm Territory.
