Today, September 9, the International Political Forum “Modern State: Democracy Standards and Efficiency Criteria”, dedicated to the millennium of the city, has opened in Yaroslavl. Two days on the forum will discuss the role of a modern state in ensuring the security and sustainability of the modern world. The event will be supervised by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, whose performance is expected on September 10.

If foreign experts had a choice, instead of the forum in Yaroslavl, they would visit the same in Perm.

More than 500 state and political figures, prominent experts and political scientists from 35 countries of the world arrived in Yaroslavl. The forum is expected to perform Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, President of Korea Lee Men Baku and the head of the Japanese government of Yukio Hatoyama. Also, the first persons of Mitsubishi and Volvo are expected among foreign guests. From the Russian elite, in addition to Medvedev, the event will take part in the Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, head of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky and many others.
The first of the political elite in Yaroslavl came the country's chief communist Gennady Zyuganov. He arrived in the city on September 8 in a completely classic way - by train.
The metropolitan head chose a more exotic way of travel to the place of the forum-in the company of participants in the rack of retro cars released before 1970. Obviously, cars (and even more old) drive more slowly by trains, and the Moscow mayor will come to Yaroslavl only on September 10. But with its “off-road car, Luzhkov can surpass the head of the Russian government, which swept behind the wheel of“ Lada Kalina ”from Chita to Khabarovsk.
Even later, on Sunday, on September 12, when the forum is already over, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill will come to the anniversary on the anniversary. Vladyka, albeit later than all, will arrive in the city on his ship Pallas, which inherited him from the predecessor Alexy.
I decided to talk about the role of transportation in the formation of the image of the “Salt” policy with Ralph Vigam, a specialist of the Colorado Center for the Development of Information Design, the author of the popular monograph “Non -trivial methods of political communication”.
- Mr. Wigam, are you interested in Russian politics? The phrase "Yaroslavl forum" tells you about anything?
- Yes, but, to be frank, I am surprised to hear how many Russian politicians of the first row went there. Soon, after all, the forum in Perm opens, and, frankly, I have the opportunity to choose - I would choose Perm. This is obvious.
- Tell me, is it important how exactly the politician gets to the place of the next gathering?
- Well, I would. We live in a world where the word has long fallen to the victim of semiotic inflation. Ideologies no longer compete, the right cannot be distinguished from the left. I don’t know the voter - whether they remember in Russia what this term means - not words that are the same for everyone, but gestures, communication at the level of emotions, an attack on the subconscious.
And here any means are good.
-Indicate the mistakes made by the forum participants, give them some tips.
- Well. I'll start with the President of Russia. It seems to me that in an ideal way of the transport, let’s say, self -replacement for him, at the same time demonstrating the transparency, childish simplicity of his soul open to the world, and the craving for everything new, fashionable, and, at the same time, allowing to clearly indicate the limits of modernization in Russia, there would be a scooter. A simple scooter, but certainly - with an expensive non -functional lotion. To buzz something or gleamed.
- Fine. What do you say, for example, about the mayor of Moscow?
- As far as I can judge, Luzhkov is the most experienced politician in Russia today. He is able to calculate the situation of the month two forward and acts flawlessly. Antique car is an ideal vehicle for a suburban walk of a secured pensioner.
- Other participants?
- You know, you can save here. Other Russian politicians and political scientists, and all at once, would look great on a giant balloon, puffed up with smoke.
Ideally, if the shape of the ball resembled a condom.
- Well, let's say, prime minister, - even though he is not expected in Yaroslavl.
- Frankly, I am surprised by those strange devices that your national leader prefers to move around. By the way, what was it on the Khabarovsk - Chita highway?
- Automobile. Russian car.
- Well. Doesn't matter. So, an appealing to the deepest, most htonic layers of popular consciousness, the leader, the epic hero must move ... must move ... Well, let's say, in the three. This is so in Russian. But not on the usual, of course, three. His team - a symbol of power over the elements - here, say, sturgeon, tigress and fire aircraft, united by arches of oil pipes ...
- And you? If you had a chance to go to Yaroslavl, what would you go to?
- And me? And I am a dog.
