The Russian Ministry of Defense in a morning summary officially announced the end of the "Easter truce", declared by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and the resumption of military operations. Dmitry Peskov at today's briefing once again refused to comment on the possible deadlines for concluding a peace agreement. So he commented on the statement of US President Donald Trump, who said that the transaction between Russia and Ukraine could be concluded this week.

“I would not like to give any comments now, especially about the time framework. President Putin, the Russian side remain open to finding a peaceful settlement, continue to work with the American side. And of course, we hope that this work will give its results, ”said the Kremlin representative.

Trump wrote that Moscow and Kyiv can conclude a deal “Already this week” yesterday late in the evening in their social network Truth Social. “After that, both countries will begin to conduct a big business with the United States, which will flourish and earn a fortune,” Trump said. He did not specify what such an opinion is based on. In Kyiv, his statements were not commented.

Trump regularly publicly acts with extremely optimistic forecasts regarding the possible deadlines for termination of hostilities. Even before the President, he promised to end the war “in 24 hours”, but later admitted that the conflict was more complicated than he had presented, and from the moment he returned to the White House began to say that “several weeks” were required to complete the fighting.
