The Interfax agency was authorized to inform that the Federal Security Service for several decades contained either a scout or a spy on its grunts in neighboring Estonia - it is depending on which side to watch. And this scout, supposedly, was extremely fruitful and supplied his native organs of super -secret and supervision information, in comparison with which the exposure of the American Snowden Eggs of the Objected did not stand. The NTV channel, not without a sense of pride, quotes the FSB statement that "thanks to him, many sabotage operations of the US intelligence services, Sweden, Holland and other countries were torn, a number of agents of foreign spying centers were arrested and a leakage of valuable secret information was prevented."
In fact, this kind of services are not used to surrender to bragging or engaged in self-disclosure-they are not true, but quite the opposite. This time, however, the FSB leaked into print such details that it is easy to check specialists. The son of the Soviet officer UNO Puusepp was recruited back in the distant 70s, after the collapse of the USSR, he remained in the service in Estonian intelligence of the Kapo. The connection with the Lubyanka was provided to him by a colleague for GB, someone Nikolai Ermakov, who is a channel under a small shopkeeper and, having an Estonian passport, often traveled to Russia in his speculative affairs. This very Ermakov also participated in a telepostation, decorating the story with chilling details, representing UNO as a modern Stirlitz. The world is now wondering: what, in fact, the FSB wanted to say with its disza?
There can be no doubt that this is a cunning desk - there are too many inconsistencies and inconsistencies in it. The hero himself three years ago retired and disappeared in one of the sleeping regions of Moscow. Most likely, his methods of work and his acquaintance have lost its relevance. The question remains unanswered, what did he do until April 2004, that is, during it, when Estonia was not yet in NATO? Perhaps self-disclosure are somehow connected with the case of Eston Kokhver, a security officer of the Baltic State, detained either in the territory of Estonia, or when collecting mushrooms in the border forest and exported to Moscow? The trial of Kokhver should begin in January next year, and the prosecutor’s office is going to solder him from 10 to 20 years of strict regime.
The explanation that suggests itself primarily: the FSB seeks to radically spoil the reputation of the country, which is considered a "premium" among post -communist states. Estonia overtakes not only new, but also many old members of the European Union and NATO - according to GDP growth, in terms of quality of life, in low corruption, according to the transparency of legislation, in low crime. If the successive Estonia is infiltrated by the Russian agent under the eyeballs, then it is not recommended to trust other newcomers to NATO and even more so!
If there are such spies that managed to work out the task and escape on time, it turns out that the counterintelligence of this state is Dryava as a sieve
In fact, to recruit new ones or activating "sleeping" agents in post-communist countries is a simple matter. For some reason, it was in Estonia that they always came across more often than those of neighbors. In 2008, a certain German Simm was arrested in Tallinn, who was in charge of NATO ties in the Ministry of Defense. His frequent trips to the Brussels headquarters of the Alliance did not surprise anyone, as they were associated with his direct official duties. But the “counthogs” from one friendly power shared an interesting compromising evidence with Estonian colleagues, they dug deeper and among the acquaintances of Simm found a Portuguese entrepreneur, who in fact turned out to be an GRU officer. Simma was taken red -handed when transmitting NATO secret documents, and in 2009 he was sentenced for state treason to 12 years in prison.
Since then, Estonians have been engaged in counterintelligence activities with double zeal. In the NATO offices, they have developed a reputation as good services - diligent, reliable, assiduous. Therefore, when in 2013 they spotted and planted the next Russian “mole”, a retired intelligence officer Vladimir Weitman, no one took it as a failure - rather as evidence of the vigilance and effectiveness of Estonian special services. It is possible that it was this positive reputation of Estonia that the specialists from the FSB wanted to spoil.
After all, if there are such spies that managed to work out the task and escape on time, it turns out that the counterintelligence of this Baltic state is Dryava as a sieve. Worse, the responsible persons of Russia have no understanding: that no, even the most successful special services of the country's development, they solve the status of advanced civilization.
Once, even under the Soviet regime, a discussion was held in the emigrant press, the common denominator of which could serve as the name of one of the articles: "Fools of Americans and smart Russians." The author compared the level of training of spies in these two superpower, and the comparison was released in all respects not in favor of the United States. The Soviet school of scouts was an order of magnitude higher: there they sorted out in geopolitics and played chess, and even on the violin. A set of names corresponded to this. Russia always had wonderful spies - Sorge, Abeli and other, unique illegal immigrants like Arnold Deche, ideological allies in the very lair of the enemy like Kim Filby and his Cambridge Five. And the West can be boasted only by one hero, and even the one from the movie screen - James Bond.
Problems did not arise with the ideas that worked while naive people believed them, but with reality, and she constantly failed. Life turned out to be worse, but more convincing ideas. The useless chess players, without removing their legs from the table, were waiting for the weather by the sea, and with depressing regularity, Soviet defectors knocked into their rooms, who laid out neat lists with such difficult and implemented agents to their soles.
Now the situation is not a worse example - life in Russia has not become sweeter than the American, and in general Western, but ideas have become completely tempting. If earlier some educated people were caught on a promise of a bright communist future, equality for everyone, no difference in the income and skin color, then what charms can be recruited today? For the impending glory of the "Russian world"? Why is this glory to a doubting American or a resident of Europe? So that, as for propaganda purposes, the now -lailled uno pousepp, to finish their days on the Moscow outskirts, in the cares and endless thrust of the unsweetened Russian everyday life? For the sake of which rugs did he leave his prosperous, well -fed and world open Tallinn? Let him explain if he can.
